Definition – What does Hyperlink mean?

A term hyperlink is a word, phrase, or a photo that you can click on to jump to a new section or area within the current document. The hyperlink is found in nearly all Web pages that enable users to click their way from page to page. Normally, text hyperlinks are blue and underlined, but don’t have to be. When you move your cursor over a hyperlink, the arrow should change to a hand pointing at the link, and when you click it, a new page in the current page will open.

Hyperlinks also referred to as just links that are common in Web pages but can be found hypertext documents. These include certain guides, dictionaries, glossaries and all the other references that use hyperlinks. The links act the similar way as they do on the internet that allow the user to jump from page to page. Basically, the hyperlink allows users to browse information at hyper speed.
