IP (Internet Protocol) is a logical numeric address that is assigned to every computer, router, printer and lots of another device that is part of a TCP/IP-based network. It is a core component on which the networking architecture is built; no network exists without it. The Internet Protocol also allows devices running on the different platforms in order to communicate with each other as long as they are linked to the internet.
