Definition – What does Link mean?
A link is an HTML object that enables you to jump to a new location when you click on it. The links are found on almost all the webpage and offer simple means of navigating between pages on the web. Mostly links can be connected to text, images or variety of other HTML elements. Text links are blue, since that the standard color web browsers use to display links.

When a link is placed to an image or images, the link tag encapsulates or surrounds the image tag. Since the image tag is nested the link tag, the image itself becomes a link.
